Monster Hunter Outlanders Freya

Commander Freya used to be the person who talked. In the third closed beta she became a pull. Official English operations copy for 28 August 2026 is short and specific: new Adventurer Freya, Fire Disruptor, Great Sword, Featured Recruitment Crimson Authority with an increased chance to obtain her.

That sentence rewrites the Adventurer roster. Pyro is no longer the only named Great Sword. The class triangle also changes: Great Sword is now Assault (Pyro) or Disruptor (Freya). Do not park both on the same hunt unless you already have Support covered.

What the CBT 3 post actually said

On 28 August 2026 the English Facebook operations post bundled four live drops: Hunt Sprint login, extra field Visages, Nergigante Approaches, and Freya’s banner. Freya is the playable one. Nergigante is the Elder Dragon event. Both are test-limited until launch copy repeats them.

The banner name is Crimson Authority. Featured Recruitment in Outlanders is the limited pool. IGN’s CBT 2 preview already warned that Featured Adventurers such as Midori may not fall into Standard Recruitment later. Assume Freya works the same way until TiMi prints otherwise.

How to play her

You do not have a public skill-overview video for Freya the way Pyro has. You have a class and a weapon.

• Weapon: Great Sword. Charge, perfect evade to keep charge, hit-and-run. The melee page still applies.
• Class: Disruptor. Your job is interrupt and pressure, not just TCS the head. If the party already has Raya or Pepper, Freya is a second Disruptor, not a missing Assault.
• Element flavour: Fire. Useful mental note for fire-weak hunts; not a datamined multiplier.

If you cannot execute Classic Great Sword on a phone, do not pull Freya to “fix” your overlay. Fix controls first.

Party math

A four-player hunt still wants Assault, Disruptor, Support. Freya fills Disruptor. Put the Fated Adventurer on Assault Lance or Bow, keep Madelyn or Arkaya on Support, and stop stacking Pyro plus Freya plus two Dual Blades.

Run that through the squad builder before you spend Featured Contracts. CBT wipes. Launch accounts should still learn the seat, not the pity counter.

Nergigante arrived in the same operations drop. CBT history dates the test. Team comps will add a Freya row when more than a class tag exists. Until then, treat her as Disruptor Great Sword, fire, limited banner, story commander with a gacha card.
