Monster Hunter Outlanders Hunt Builds

A “build” in Monster Hunter Outlanders, today, is not a 12-piece meta sheet. It is who you queue, what they swing, and which Buddy rides. Armor skills will matter at launch; CBT writing still lags that layer. These kits get you into the right fight. Check them against the planner and the team comps.

Rathalos (standard)

  • Adventurer: Midori or Fated Long Sword
  • Class: Assault
  • Buddy: Palico
  • Job: Poison claws, fire breath, air time. Cut the tail, hit the head when he plants. Bring a Bow friend if he stays up.

This is the calibration hunt. If the build feels impossible, the problem is controls, not the monster.

Radiant Rathalos

  • Adventurer: Pyro + a Bow seat in the party
  • Class: Assault (you), Support and Disruptor (them)
  • Buddy: Trillan
  • Job: Near-molten breath, frenzy. Do not solo this as four melee. See Radiant species.

Radiant Rathian / Pink Rathian

  • Adventurer: Madelyn
  • Class: Support
  • Buddy: Trillan
  • Job: Venom is the timer. Spores plus medicines. Midori on the tail if you have a second player.

Pink is a subspecies, Radiant is the mutation. Same poison homework, different aggression.

Radiant Anjanath

  • Adventurer: Ouyang Varen or Pyro
  • Class: Assault
  • Buddy: Palico or Trillan
  • Job: Hurled Radiantite. Guard the brick or charge the jaw after the throw. Dual Blades need more humility than usual.

Radiant Diablos

  • Adventurer: Ouyang Varen
  • Class: Assault
  • Buddy: Rutaco
  • Job: Horns. Guard. Hammer on the Fated seat if you have a second player. Pepper for the emerge.

Radiant Kulu-Ya-Ku

  • Adventurer: Raya
  • Class: Disruptor
  • Buddy: Rutaco
  • Job: Break the excavated Radiantite. First Radiant. Good getting started exam.

Ruger Aidal (preparatory)

  • Adventurer: Arkaya or Fated Lance
  • Class: Support or Assault with a shield
  • Buddy: Trillan
  • Job: Particle armor, heat wave, vanish. Coverage over speed. Read Ruger Aidal before you pretend this is a farm.

How to write your own

  1. Name the mechanic that carts you (poison, horn, air, frenzy).
  2. Pick the class that answers it.
  3. Pick the weapon you can play on Classic.
  4. Pick the Buddy that fills the hole.
  5. Ignore S-tier names if they do not do that job.

When armor sets are stable, this page will add skills. Until then, do not copy a fake deco list from a screenshot with no source. Use weapons and Adventurers as the real layers.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers for hunters landing on Aesoland.

Is a build a full armor set?

Not yet. Public CBT coverage is stronger on weapons and Adventurers than on finalized deco sheets. These builds are hunter plus weapon plus Buddy plus job.

Can I use these in solo?

Yes. Take the Support Buddy (Trillan) when you queue alone, even if the table lists Rutaco for a full party.

What if I do not own the named Adventurer?

Use the Fated Adventurer on the same weapon and class. That is the entire point of the created hunter.

Do builds change in Adventure Mode?

The seats do not. The execution does. Learn the hunt in Classic if you can.

Where is the live planner?

The hunt planner is the interactive version of this page.
